National Coffee Day

As part of National Coffee Day, yes there is such a thing, I am participating in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

For my submission, I created a regular A2 card but created the fold along the top versus the side.  I selected a dark brown for my card base.  Next I layered a light brown to frame a custom made background of coffee beans [from Fiskars Latte Love photopolymer stamp set] stamped in dark brown ink on a medium brown cardstock.

I used a vanilla cardstock to stamp the greeting, "thanks a latte" from the Fiskars Latte Love stamp set.  Next I stamped Newton and Cookies from the Newton's Nook, Newton's Holiday Mischief stamp set.  Newton is stamped with milk and cookies so I had to fussy cut Newton from the design before coloring with Spectrum Markers. I used foam-backed adhesives to add Newton to the card.

I stamped a coffee cup and steam from the Fiskars Latte Love stamp set.  Afterwards I fussy cut both images, I colored using Spectrum Markers.  I attached to the card with foam-backed adhesives.

Afterwards I used Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to the steam and the heart on the coffee cup as well as on Newton's collar. I finished the front of the card with a a double bow and ribbon wrapped around the top two layers of cardstock.

Moving onto the inside, I added the same light brown layer as on the front of the card.
I stamped the to-go coffee cup from Fiskars Latte Love stamp set and "You're the best" greeting from Lawn Fawn.  Finally, I used the coffee bean stamp from the front of the card  to add interest to the inside.

I hope you enjoyed my tribute to coffee today.

Poppystamps and Card Maker Blog Hop: Happy Fall

Welcome to the Poppystamps and Card Maker Blog Hop!

I am super excited to be part of a an amazing group of talented ladies to bring you this blog hop.  If you are hopping along you should have reached me from Lezlye Lauterbach's blog.

My favorite season is Autumn and there is much you can do with it as a theme.  One of my favorite things to do is to reflect and give thanks.  Therefore, my offering for you today is a card themed around thankfulness.

This card is a standard A2 cardstock in a dark brown.  I layered a leafy patterned paper and then a harvest golden color of card stock.  Then I created an Autumn sunset with distressed inks on top of white cardstock.

I used Poppystamps Viva Tree Die [901] to create the tree and leaves.  I die cut the tree several times in a harvest orange, gold, green and dark brown to get extra leaves.  From there I cut of the leaves and attached them to the tree on the card.

Next I cut out a Poppystamps Woodland Fawn Die [1014] in a light brown followed by the Poppystamps Woodland Fawn Die [945].  I cut off part of the scarf that comes with [945] to create a shorter scarf for the baby fawn.

Finally, I stamped the Danke greeting on a cream cardstock and layers each size of the Classic Ribbons Die [1005].  After assembling the greeting, I trimmed off a little of the squared off end to shorten.  Then I attached it to the card with a small green bow on a paperclip.

To finish the card, I added a cream cardstock inside with Poppystamps' So Much Cling Stamp [CS308B] greeting stamped.  It may be a little difficult to see but I hand-colored the leaves, stem and greeting with markers of different colors to continue the multi-colored theme inside the card.

I hope you have enjoyed the card and are inspired to incorporate Autumn backgrounds and themes into your card-making endeavors.
